Mangosteen Thai Street Food is a new restaurant located in Colorado Springs off of Spectrum Loop, next to Chick-Fil-A. The restaurant opened in September 2019.

They offer many authentic Thai food options including a green mango salad, pork egg rolls, thai basil chicken, stir fried vegetable glass noodles, and lemongrass chicken curry. They have a variety of Thai drinks as well like hot jasmine tea, Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, and hot green tea.

During my first time visiting the restaurant, I ordered the sesame chicken with the house salad and jasmine rice. I enjoyed how well cooked the chicken was, and the dressing on my salad was delicious. However, I was disappointed on how small the portion I was given compared to other restaurants I have been to, especially for the amount of money I spent.

The restaurant offered a very casual atmosphere; it had lots of unique lights, chill music, and it had many seating options of both booths and tables. Each table had garlic chili, peanuts, and chili flakes as an optional topping to put on one’s meal. 

The restaurant offers gluten free and vegetarian options as well, including vegetarian egg rolls and the tom kha gai salad. However, their menu does not make these options clear, and there are not many choices.

The staff was welcoming, and they helped show me different options on their menu. I hope to return again and try the massaman curry noodles or the pad thai, but spend less money than I did before.

Overall, I give this restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars. If you like Thai street food and are planning to have a family dinner or go out with friends, head out to Mangosteen Thai Street Food and give it a try. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM.
