The Muppets Haunted Mansion (TV-PG) was released on October 8, 2021 and it’s only on Disney+. Gonzo and Pepe the King Prong visit the haunted mansion for some Halloween adventure. During this haunted mansion adventure they encounter The Hearse Driver (Yvette Nicole Brown), The Caretaker (Darren Criss), The Host (Will Arnet), and The Bride (Taraji P. Henson). Kirk R. Thatcher (The Director), an ensemble cast that embraces the classic Muppet style. The mansion is brimming with silly laughs with each and every one of the characters, but there certainly isn’t a lack of chills upon meeting the ghosts in the graveyards, and the film uses technological and illusory wonders in each and everyone of the designs for the characters.

The entire haunted mansion is alive, and so is Gonzo and Pepe’s imagination, as everything that Gonzo and Pepe are seeing is ghosts in the haunted mansion’s graveyards. When Gonzo and Pepe spend the night in the haunted mansion, they encounter the Ghost Host, and he gives them clues to get in and out of the mansion itself. When Gonzo and Pepe were inside the mansion, they both get lost and they become trapped. Gonzo had a very important decision to make, get Pepe out of the haunted mansion as soon as possible, or let him stay in the mansion forever. The Muppets Haunted Mansion follows Gonzo as he takes on the challenge of surviving Halloween night in the Haunted Mansion, and he is accompanied by Pepe the King Prawn. While all of Gonzo’s and Pepe’s Muppet friends are having their own Halloween celebration, Gonzo and Pepe must avoid becoming one of the grim grinning ghosts that are contained within the graveyard and even all of their friends becoming ghosts in the Haunted Mansion as well, they face a variety of characters and are surrounded by many fun mysteries in the Haunted Mansion. 

Kirk R. Thatcher is the director of the Muppets Haunted Mansion. Thatcher has worked with the Muppets for decades and, in all of that time, he’d been hoping to help orchestrate a Halloween special, “I have wanted to make the Muppets Haunted Mansion for 30 years and I was very fortunate enough to be very involved with this creation of the Muppets Haunted Mansion Thatcher said”.  He has directed a new series on Disney+ The Muppets Now, The Muppets Haunted Mansion, and “The Muppets (2011”). Thatcher has worked with the Muppets for 35 years in his career as a director. He wanted to include Halloween as the main idea as his new Muppets movie. “The Muppets have done, like, nine Christmas specials. This is the first for Halloween. Why is that, because I wanted to do a holiday that was more fun and engaging”  Thatcher said”. Thatcher says that he remembers being a small child humming the Haunted Mansion score as soon as the leaves started changing. “The best compliment we got from the Imagineering team was they told us there has been 200 projects over the years involving the Haunted Mansion and the biggest issue usually is those past projects get the grim but not the grinning,” he said. No matter what the reason was, when Thatcher was offered the opportunity to insert the characters of the Muppets into a popular Disneyland attraction.

The costume designer of the Muppets Haunted Mansion is Lisa Davis. Davis is a costume designer and Muppet costume specialist. She was inspired by all of the iconic Haunted Mansion attractions located at the Disney theme parks around the world. As far as set-ups go, “Muppets Haunted Mansion” is ideal. For one, it allows the Muppet characters to play themselves. “Davis said.  The impact that Davis had on the Muppets Haunted Mansion is that Davis wanted the attractions in the movie to be more fun. All in all, the Haunted Mansion is what spoke out to her the most.

The soundtrack team from the Muppets Haunted Mansion consists of Ed Mitchell and Steve Morell. Morell is composer and pianist who works with Ed Mitchell, and he has worked on several recent Muppet projects. Ed Mitchell is a composer, arranger, and music producer who started working on several of the Muppets projects, and now he works on the majority of the Disney-produced projects starring the Muppets. Songs like Rest in Peace by Darren Criss, Dancing in the Moonlight, and Life Hereafter are catchy and memorable

My opinion on the Muppets Haunted Mansion is that it is a Halloween theme musical. After I watched the Muppets Haunted Mansion, I really liked that there were a lot of fun interactions between the characters and some even scary moments that had to do with Halloween and what it was really all about. Creepy creeps with eerie eyes start to shriek and harmonize. Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize. “Skai Jackson from (Jessie) said. The entire movie had some funny moments between the characters and even had some fun songs that everyone can enjoy. What I liked about the movie was that the entire movie had Halloween everything. Some Halloween movies don’t have a lot of Halloween creativity in it, but the Muppets Haunted Mansion had the Halloween theme from beginning to end. Who would really like the movie the Muppets Haunted Mansion is I think either children of all ages and families would like it. 

The Muppets Haunted Mansion has it all from Halloween costumes for each and everyone of the characters and cast, the entire graveyard coming to life with the ghosts and the humans that have been dead in the past, to talk to Gonzo and Pepe about what was going to happen to them on their very special Halloween night. This is a refreshing change from the gory Thatcher movies that normally come out at Halloween. In classic Muppet style, the music was fun and engaging.

Since that the Muppets have been together for 35 years in the making, and they have had the same director for three of there productions, there is something very special about the Muppets Haunted Mansion that people should really know about is that the entire movie has Halloween spread throughout the entire movie and I think that is pretty cool and that is what Halloween is truly about is having a spooky holiday being represented in an entire movie.

Young and old can appreciate this family style Halloween movie.
