The 2015 NFL Draft occurred from April 30th to May 2nd. The NFL Draft is where the best college football players put themselves into recruitment, and NFL teams can chooses who to pick based on what position player they need.

The basic design of the draft is that each team is given a position in the drafting order, in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first.

This year, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the first pick, as they were the worst team during the 2014-2015 season. With the first pick in the draft, they selected Jameis Winston, quarterback from Florida State.

During his two years at Florida State, Winston compiled 72 touchdowns, over 8,000 total yards, 2013 Heisman Trophy Winner, had a 26-1 record, along with numerous championships. Winston signed a 24.4 million, 4 year deal.

The contract excludes Winston from playing baseball. During his tenure at Florida State, Winston was on the school’s baseball team and in 2012, Winston was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 15th round of the MLB draft.

Winston chose to stay in college, however, and is now eligible to be drafted during the 2015 MLB draft.
