Every year the holiday season comes around and with it comes thankfulness, laughter and fun times with family and friends. Even though the holiday season is supposed to be inspiring and stress free, people can often lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to celebrate the holiday.
The craziness of the season begins on Black Friday and sometimes doesn’t end until Christmas Eve. The air is filled with cash registers ringing, crisp winter air, and the hustling of people trying to get presents for friends and family.
More often than not, people become more concerned about receiving gifts and their purchases than the actual true meaning of Christmas. People start to believe the only purpose of Christmas is to be in nonstop motion and they forget to stop and feel the spirit of Christmas.
The true spirit of Christmas is about spending quality time with people and to talk about all they are thankful for. It is a time of giving thoughtful gifts to people out of the kindness in your heart and not out of duty.
Christmas is about spreading joy and happiness to people who deserve it most and to be generous and forgiving all the time. The holiday is to remind us to live selflessly and show constant kindness.
I think the true meaning of Christmas has changed throughout the years, but if people try to remember what the holiday season is all about, Christmas can be represented for what it really is.
