During the Lewis-Palmer Homecoming football game, the Lewis Palmer Rangers ended the game 20-10 against the Pueblo County High School Hornets.

The Rangers easily got the touchdown during the first quarter, but struggled to move forward in the second quarter. During the third quarter the Rangers held the Hornets back long enough to receive Pueblo County’s fumble during the fourth quarter, making it impossible for the Hornets to recover.

Before this game, the Pueblo County football team was 1-2 and the Lewis Palmer team was 0-3. The Lewis Palmer football team knew they would have to work hard to beat the Hornets.

“They are a really good team. We played them last year. They are a tough team,” said Johnson 10, before the game.

Due to the game being Homecoming game, the whole football team knew the stands would be full. Every Lewis-Palmer High School student  was relying on the Rangers to win. The Rangers lost the previous three games and this game was the only way they have a chance at the play-offs.

“Everyone’s relying on us. It’s Homecoming game, we have to win it,” said Whittier 10. “If we lose Homecoming we kind of lost it all.”

Although, they lost their first three games this win was all the hope the team needed. They will strive forward and continue to play like they have the previous years.

“We have some new plays but otherwise it’s the same old school football.” Whittier 10, explains. Even though the Rangers have struggles they will never change their old school football philosophy.
