The Golden State Warriors released a statement expressing their disappointment in Trump’s tweet.

Stephen Curry and the whole Golden State Warriors team were invited to the White House after they won the NBA Championships against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Most people would be very honored to be invited to the white house and for good reason. However, when Donald Trump became president, the whole Golden State Warriors team made it very clear that they did not want to attend the white house visit.

On September 23rd Trump Tweeted out, “Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team. Stephen Curry is hesitating, therefore invitation is withdrawn!”

Although the team’s most dominant players, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, already stated that they would not be going, Steve Kerr said that the Golden State Warriors would  talk about if they were going to attend the white house visit or not.

Lebron James chimed in on Twitter and posted, “U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!”

Since Trump has been in the White House, members of the Super Bowl winning New England Patriots, the Chicago Cubs, and the Clemson Tigers have visited him at the White House. The Warriors have since taken a very uncommon route, they have unanimously decided to not attend the white house visit.
