Softball is a sport available to all female students at Lewis-Palmer High School during summer and fall. There are 2 levels of teams, Junior Varsity and Varsity. It is a great way to build teamwork with fellow students. They have improved their skills over the course of the year through practice and gameday experiences.

Junior Varsity is currently at 2 wins and 8 losses in their season with their last game coming up on Monday, October 2 against Coronado @ Lewis-Palmer High School. Being on the Junior Varsity team has helped players develop abilities they will use to begin their Varsity experience.

The Varsity team recently ended their season with a total of 6 wins and 12 losses. On September 2, the Varsity team received a trophy for 3rd place in the Sheridan tournament.

“I like playing this sport because it keeps me active and helps me improve my coordination,” Brooke Weida 9

Weida started playing this year and worked to catch her spot on the Junior Varsity team.

“My greatest achievement is to just put my whole heart and soul out on the field every time I play,” Lauren Phillips 9

Family inspired, Phillips 9, has been playing for 5 years.

“When I started softball, I was not good and determined to get better and it took me to where I am now,” Avery Kreischer 9

“My favorite thing about softball is that it’s a team sport but you can really grow as an individual,” Lauren Phillips 9

As the last game of the Junior Varsity softball season arrives, Varsity players are encouraging Junior Varsity players to put their all into this game. The Lewis-Palmer High School Softball team has had an outstanding season building character and leadership.
