“Saturday’s game was definitely fun,” Brady Jones 12 said. “We just started out our league games this past week, which allows us to play against more competition in the Colorado Springs area. We fell to Pine Creek last year so it felt good to come back and beat them in front of our home crowd.”

The Lewis-Palmer Ranger’s boys basketball team faced off against the Pine Creek Eagles January 15. The game was full of suspense and was a hard fought game between both teams until the final buzzer. Lewis-Palmer High School didn’t get off to a great start, but in the end, they were able to pull out the win against a big rival 64-50.

“We couldn’t buy a basket in the first and struggled to get buckets even with good looks,” Cameron Lowe 12 said. “I was happy we got the win but felt like we could have played better.

We still grinded on defense and eventually pulled away the win making it a high point of the game.”

The Rowdy Rangers were in full force January 15. The student section made sure their presence was felt. They were the most visible with a “ranger out” theme which is where the students dress in Lewis- Palmer High School attire. They were the most vocal section with their behavior showing their school spirit.

“I loved the Rowdy Rangers,” Eli Robinson 11 said. “It gives us energy when we make a big play but sometimes we actually can’t hear each other.”

The boys basketball team goes against Vista Ridge High School, another hot team in their conference on Tuesday. The team is ready to battle against the Wolves and are preparing to come back to Monument with a win.

“For our game against Vista Ridge it’ll be a good game for sure,” Brady Jones 12 said. “It’s a new week for us and we get to start it off with some good competition. As long as we stick to what we do best, we will leave their gym with the result we want.”
