Mackenzie Shuman is currently a senior and has been in the Lewis-Palmer school district for her entire life. She enjoys horseback riding competitively throughout the state of Colorado as well as competing on a national level. Mackenzie and her horse, Quinn, have qualified for and competed at the United States Junior Hunter Finals, and have gathered a plethora of year end awards. However, Mackenzie is planning to move on from horseback riding to focus more on her schooling and college education. To stay busy, Mackenzie is an intern for a nation-wide magazine, The Plaid Horse Magazine. This entails many hours of photo editing, writing, and social media upkeep. Mackenzie also has her own photography business, Quintessence Photography. She takes many pictures of many people horseback riding, and senior portraits along with many other photoshoots with a wide variety of topics. While this business is in its beginning stages, Mackenzie hopes it will grow throughout the years. This is her first year in Newspaper and is excited to see what potential she has to unlock.
