McKenna Fish, a senior at Lewis-Palmer is missing her best friend Jasper Lw.  Jasper is a foreign exchange student from Germany that stayed with McKenna and her family last year.

“I miss having someone to talk to and drive around with all the time,” Fish said.

Even though McKenna is missing Jasper dearly, she still has the good memories they had together to cherish.

“The best memory we had was going to Pikes Peak.  He was scared on the drive up so he was screaming the whole time,” Fish said.

Many who have hosted  a foreign exchange student in the past try to host a different one for the upcoming year however the Fish family is different.

“I would not bring another foreign exchange student into my house, because I don’t think they would not live up to the expectations of Jasper,” Fish said.

Jasper left an impact on the Fish family that could never be replaced.  Even though Jasper and the Fish family had good memories together McKenna is somewhat happy that his year is over.

“It was hard having to share all my stuff and time especially since he could not drive,” Fish said.

Despite this challenge McKenna loves Jasper dearly and is planning on going to Germany to visit him this summer.  Foreign exchange students can be found through many organizations and can bring light into homes everywhere.
