Lewis-Palmer has seen many students come and go, but none with the unique background of Bethany Wolfer. A California native, Bethany moved to Monument to live with her dad and for a change of scenery. That can be perceived as both a good and a bad thing, seeing as how she had to move in the middle of her senior year. Luckily she chooses to see the glass as half full instead of half empty.

“The best part about moving halfway through senior year is getting to meet new people and having a fresh start. There is also a lot more freedom at this school and way less homework ” Wolfer said.

Coming from an interesting upbringing, Wolfer has developed a love for yoga.

“My parents were hippies when I was younger so I grew up doing things differently than most kids.I have owned a vast amount of animals, including everything from a cat to a peacock. My mother introduced me to yoga when i was nine and I’ve loved doing it ever since. I absolutely love it and hope to continue practicing it for the rest of my life. It has so many great benefits that can help you throughout your life,” Wolfer said.

Perhaps someday Monument can expect to have a yoga studio owned and run by a certain Ms. Bethany Wolfer.
