The Friday before Halloween, the Advanced Quantitative Reasoning (AQR) carnival took place in the multipurpose room at Lewis-Palmer High School. The carnival was for the AQR, a senior math course here at Lewis-Palmer.

The students taking the course spent work days in class to come up with their game, where they would then take the results from these booths and use them for a project based on the statistics taken from the carnival.

The seniors came up with certain activities that focused on probability, one was picking up a certain kind of duck to win a prize, another was pulling out the right lollipop with a dot on its end to win candy. High schoolers were able to play the games the seniors created and win prizes.

“It was really fun for everyone,” Macee Hall ,12, said.

It was a fun way for students to apply a math lesson into a fun game. Seeing how crowded it was and all the laughing students leaving the carnival was an obvious sight that this year’s carnival was a success. Playing games based on probability, eating candy, and just having fun was a celebratory way for Lewis-Palmer High School to spend Halloween.
