Winter break is a time for kids to have a break from school, do their homework, and have a break from their daily routine. With winter break right around the corner, the students of LP are finally ready for a break. The holiday season brings the students enjoyment to their winter break with their families and friends.

Having a break from school gets kids excited to not have to do anything for school until the next semester. Sleeping in more and being able to sleep as long as they want too, and not having to get up early for anything.

“My favorite thing about winter break is getting to sleep in. I hate being up at six in the morning everyday for school, and now that we have winter break, I will get to sleep in as long as I want  and I am really looking forward to sleeping in for winter break this year,” Dylan Huston 12 said.

Being able to hang out with friends and the kids getting excited to see their friends over break and getting to spend time with them. Spending time with their families gets kids ready to have time to see their families more often and get to spend as much time with them as possible before break is over.

“To sleep in more, hang out with my friends, and just being able to relax. I am excited to not have to be up so early in the morning for school,” Alex Mazaro 11 said.

Over the holidays, there are kids that like to travel over the winter break to see their families and friends, and there are other kids that like to stay in the local areas during the holiday season.

“We are going to visit my mom in Steamboat Springs over winter break this year. I never get to see my mom because she moved out of my house, and now I get to have the chance to see my mom once again over winter break,” Omero Graff 12 said. “I get to connect with her again, which will be a miracle for me and my family this holiday season. I am looking forward to traveling with my family to visit my mom in Steamboat Springs over winter break this year.”

Skiing in the mountains with their families gets kids excited and ready for the slopes in the mountains and to see snow in the mountains too. Going on bike rides has everyone ready for some time to themselves and having the chance to do something fun on their break. Spending time with their animals has kids ready to play and cuddle with their pets over break.

“I like seeing my pet duck, reading, drinking hot chocolate, and sleeping in a lot. Drinking hot chocolate and reading books are two classic things that I love to do on cold winter days when winter break is coming for me,” Hope Hedstrom 11 said.

Some kids like that winter break should stay the same for everyone by having two weeks of Christmas vacation, or there are other kids that want winter break to be a lot longer than what we have now as far as a two week Christmas vacation.

“I would like to have winter break to be the same as it has always been, and I would not like it to change. I don’t like to have things change for winter break once it comes for me to spend time with the people that I love during the holiday season,” Aidan Kirkman 11 said. “And I would like to have winter break to stay the same for everyone to have the two weeks of Christmas vacation.”

When it comes to spending time with their families over winter break, the students of Lewis-Palmer mostly like to spend time with their families and play lots of board games. Getting to spend time with their families and having fun by playing board games together can bring people together during the holiday season.

The traditions that the students of Lewis-Palmer have over their winter breaks playing board games with their families gets kids excited to play as many board games as they possibly can. Going to look at all of the Christmas lights in neighborhoods at night, has everyone prepared for the joy of Christmas and getting to see all of the Christmas lights with their families. There is a comfort found in the traditions of Christmas that is especially enjoyable with family and friends.

Winter break is one of the most important Christmas vacations that kids get to enjoy with their families and friends once the final week of school gets out. Drinking hot chocolate on cold days gets kids ready for winter break and Christmas vacation in a big way. These things make kids more excited and relaxed to do over their winter break this year.

The students of Lewis-Palmer have some favorite things that they like about winter break.

The season of Christmas brings everyone joy to having the time of their lives to enjoy Christmas with their families and friends.
