September 12th 2014 was an exciting day at Lewis-Palmer; it was the day of the LP vs. PR football game.  The game ended with a score of 6 to 16 with Palmer Ridge taking back the trophy.

Many of Lewis-Palmer’s football players left the game defeated and wished they could go back and do something different.

“If I could change one thing about the game it would be turnovers because we didn’t score and it changed the momentum of the game,” Nick Chorney, junior said.

Both Lewis-Palmer and Palmer Ridge have dedicated fans for braving terribly cold weather.  Unlike the fans, the football players claim that the bitter cold weather didn’t have anything to do with the outcome of the game.

“I don’t feel that the cold weather played a factor in the score of the game because it may have been cold for everyone else but since we were moving it felt good.”  Chorney said.

Though Lewis-Palmer high school didn’t bring home the win this year, they still have another chance next year to prove who the best football team in Monument is.
