The sun set once again on another day on the Don Breese Stadium. There was something different about the stadium that day. The District 38 Field Hockey team has won another game and a place in the state tournament.

This year the field hockey team has been leaving a path to state being one of the best teams in the state of Colorado.

The team is currently ranked third in the state with 12 wins, 3 losses and 2 ties.

Last week’s game against Cherry Creek High School was a crucial win to determine the team they would compete against first in the state tournament. With the win against Cherry Creek the field hockey team will advance into the tournament circuit.

“Ultimately it’s about winning the game to get to state,” junior Amy Cooper said.

The 1-0 win against Kent Denver on Wednesday placed the field hockey team in the final game against Colorado Academy on Saturday at the All City Stadium.
