It came as no surprise when the Lewis-Palmer’s lady rangers volleyball team brought home their second state title in a row this November.

Aleyna Kennel had the opportunity to compete on the varsity volleyball team as a freshman. Ever since the first grade, Aleyna has been known for tearing it up on the volleyball court, and little has changed.

“Volleyball to me is an escape from friends, drama and school work,” Kennel said.

Kennel is not only a star athlete but also an honors student, so it is no surprise that she plans on attending Stanford and playing for the Cardinals elite volleyball team.

“Being able to play in state my freshman year was incredible. I am so lucky I got the chance,” Kennel said.

Many high school students dream of the day that their team wins state. For Aleyna her dream came true.

“It was crazy how many students come out to support the team. It really helps our energy and confidence on the court,” Kennel said.

Many students at Lewis-Palmer think that Aleyna Kennel will have another run at state with the number one volleyball team in the nation, and as for Kennel, she has already started making goals for next year.
