It was half time, and we were still head to head. Anxiety filled the stands. Would we win the last game of the season?
On October 30th, rangers donned orange and black and headed to the Don Breeze stadium to support our varsity football team’s last game of the season.
According to Jacob Baggett, 12, a member of the team, they missed a couple of opportunities in previous games, but he was very assured that the team would do well on their last game.
“I’m very confident. We’ve practiced all week and I think we’re gonna go out there and we’re gonna win,” Baggett said.
The last home football game is an exciting event for any school, but it also brings a bitter-sweet mood. Many students, including the football players, were a little sad about the season ending.
“It’s sad, but hopefully we will make the playoffs so it won’t be the last game.” Baggett said.
It turns out that Baggett’s confidence and hopes for making the playoffs weren’t for naught. The Lewis-Palmer Rangers had a great victory, scoring a 58 points compared to the other team’s 32. This was a good end to a good season and hopefully the next season will be just as great.
