Thursday February 5th, Lewis-Palmer’s mens wrestling team faced off against their town rival, Palmer Ridge just before upcoming regionals. Last season Lewis-Palmer defeated Palmer Ridge in a blowout.
On Thursday Lewis-Palmer once again beat the Bears.
Both teams are having some of their most successful seasons.
Lewis-Palmer even traveled to Kansas for a meet in order to prepare for their match against Palmer Ridge as well as regionals .
“The feeling is phenomenal, and what we had worked for paid off,” Tanner Hunt 9, said.
The team has also been preparing and getting in shape by running and lifting regularly.
“It was exhilarating beating them once again,” Ian Mullins 10, said.
Clearly all the teams hard work had paid off.
“It felt great my feelings were indescribable,” Max Voshage, 9 said.
Even though Lewis-Palmer did not shut out Palmer Ridge, the team still defeated with a final score of 34 to 32.
Wrestling at Lewis-Palmer does not get all the followers that volleyball or basketball does, however it seems like this was a match to remember.
