Two boxers walk to the ring; stepping inside, they square off. The bell rings, and the fight begins.
Floyd Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao this past Saturday. The fight lasted twelve rounds and was an unanimous decision in Mayweather’s favor.
Mayweather, a defensive fighter known for a cool calculated style of fighting, had a very unflashy fight. He dodged the punches of Pacquiao and landed enough hits on his opponent to win the bout.
Pacquiao thought he won the fight, by judging his opinion off the crowd which was obviously in his favor. However, Mayweather controlled the fight throughout and earned the judges decision.
Many viewers were disappointed by the fight. Viewers wanted a knockout from one of the fighters. Viewers were disappointed by the lackluster effort of Mayweather, whose whole strategy was to dodge punches and land a better percentage of hits on Pacquiao; earning just enough points to beat Pacquiao.
Both fighters walked away from the night much richer. Mayweather and Pacquiao will both earn around $200 million dollars for the fight. This enormous amount amount is all thanks to their guaranteed money and an incredible amount of pay-per-view buys.
