Starbucks introduces their new “Red cups”

Ryan Sacatelli, Ranger Review Reporter

At Lewis-Palmer High School both students and teachers rely on the sweet adrenaline of coffee. One of the top brands of coffee today is Starbucks.  There has been slight controversy about the Starbucks cups coloring for this time of season.

In the past, Starbucks has decorated their cups with holiday symbols such as trees, snow, ornaments, snowmen, and other festive decorations. These designs inspired the season and brought happiness and joy to their customers. Although these cups have brought in more and more customers, Starbucks this year has  decided to switch things up by having an all red cup.

The red cup has caused huge controversy about Starbucks’ religious standpoint. People have believed that Starbucks has become “Anti-Christmas” due to the fact they took away their festive cup designs.

The public has shown much concern towards their beloved holiday cups. Many people have already complained to the multi-million dollar company by sending letters, emails, and videos and making phone calls.

Ashlynn Edmond, 10, is a Starbucks coffee lover. Ashlynn believes that their should be no controversy over such a small issue.

“I believe the red cups are just Starbucks catering to everyone’s needs and opinions; being open to everyone,” said Edmond.

Brandon Strong, 11, highly enjoys Starbucks Frappucinos. Brandon loved the holiday decorations in the past and was disappointed to see them go. Although he does miss them, he doesn’t believe people should be getting this upset.

“Honestly we have more to worry about than a red cup,” Strong explained.

Although this controversy is being talked about all over the United States, Starbucks will still be producing red cups. This controversy is not greatly preventing people from purchasing their favorite Starbucks beverage.
