Every year a new set of Major League Greats are selected to get a chance to be inducted into the Cooperstown Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. Last year the inductees were Ken Griffey Jr., a Centerfielder that played for the Seattle Mariners, and Mike Piazza, a catcher for the New York Mets. This year the ballot was riddled with players that played in the Steroids Era. Players on the ballot include baseball greats such as Barry Bonds, the leader in homeruns history with 762 home runs and Roger Clemens, who recorded 23 strikeouts in a game the most ever in Major League Baseball history.

This years inductees are Jeff Bagwell, first baseman for the Houston Astros; Ivan Rodriguez, a catcher for the Texas Rangers; and Tim Raines, a left fielder for the Montreal Expos.
The players put up great numbers in their careers such as winning achievements such as Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player of the Year and the Hank Aaron award.

Although each player has put up eligible statistics to enter the Hall of Fame, baseball fans believe that some of the inductees should be banned from entering the Hall of Fame due to some believing that they were doping. Doping is also known as using steroids in ways to improve muscle strength to increase their statistics. Players that have been cracked down on doping are players such as Jose Canseco and Mark Mcgwire, who both were given trials for cheating in baseball by using steroids.

Players this year that were believed to be doping are Jeff Bagwell and Ivan Rodriguez. Evidence to prove this have made some fans sceptical. With Jeff  Bagwell putting up great home run numbers, Runs Batted in, and Extra Base hits, fans believe he was able to get away with doping. Ivan Rodriguez was known for throwing runners out at second while trying to steal, some believe that the reason he was able too was doping. Each player did have great muscle mass, but steroids do cause many side effects. One side effect is the size of your head increasing, both Bagwell and Rodriguez from their time as rookies to ending their career ended with much larger heads. Now there is no total way of testing this fact due to their careers ending and that it is very unlikely that these players are still abusing steroids.

These players will not be the only players in the future to be accused with doping. Players in the 2017 ballot such as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Manny Ramirez, Sammy Sosa and Billy Wagner were all believed to be using steroids. It will also be a controversy in future Hall of Fame Ballots such as Alex Rodriguez, Ryan Braun and Dee Gordon getting suspended due to Performance Enhancing Drugs.
