Syria is a country that is located in the midwest area of Asia. It’s a developing country and has its own set of struggles. Syria lies on a huge dessert with little water and little salvation. A city in Syria named Douma was recently attacked by its own government. The Syrian government bombed the city with bioweapons or chemical weapons on April 7th, 2018. Forty-Eight people died the day the bombs were realized. The government tried to eliminate the last rebel-held town. The OPCW or Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is seeking samples from those who remained during the attack. “From the bodies already buried we are looking for ways to exhume if possible and take some biomedical samples,” Director-General Ahmet Uzumcu told the Financial Times.

UK officials say about 75 people were killed in the attack on the rebel stronghold on the outskirts of Damascus. US officials have said they believe chlorine and sarin gas were dropped there. But unfortunately, Syria and their Russian ally both deny that the chemical attack never took place. Russia, which allies with Syria claims that the attack was simply just a fake. The UK and UK France both blame the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime. They acted and sent military air strikes on the country. This is not the first time Syria has gotten bombed by the UK and US military. When Barack Obama was in office for the presidency of the United States, he also sent an air strike to Syria because of the civil war. Syria has been at civil war within itself for a couple years now.

Starting on March 2013 near Aleppo. Ever since then the war has only grown. Seventeen attacks have happened since that first attack. Almost two years ago sarin gas or a sarin-like substance was used to attack a small town named Khan Sheikhoun. Al Jazeera has multiple chemically induced weapons such as sarin, White Phosphorus, Chlorine Gas, Mustard gas, and many others. Jazeera has used these to attack rebel bases ever since the first attack in 2013.

The United States is not just sitting and watching the attacks happen either. US President Trump has made multiple threats to the Syrian government. Syria didn’t listen though. So the president has sent a missile attack to the country and then later tweeting “ A perfectly executed strike last night,” he wrote, “Thank you to France and the United Kingdom for their wisdom and the power of their fine Military. Could not have had a better result. Mission Accomplished!” in less than twenty-four hours of the attack. Because of the tweet, President Trump received backlash from what he calls “Fake news.” he later tweeted the Syrian raid was so perfectly carried out, with such precision, that the only way the Fake News Media could demean was by my use of the term “Mission Accomplished.” I knew they would seize on this but felt it is such a great Military term, it should be brought back. Use often!.” Trump also tweeted
