Homecoming week is an exciting time, not only for the high school students but for the staff as well. More than half of the student body and many of the seniors were dressed up as Disney characters on the third dress up day.

Ken Lesage, a social studies teacher, was dressed as the dwarf Bashful from the well-known Disney movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. He as well as the other teachers in his department decide to dressed as the other dwarfs from the movie.

“We were encouraged by Carrie Coates, since there are seven of us in the department,” Lesage said.

Lesage’s favorite costume, other than his own of course, was Maurie Cambell, library clerk, who dressed up as the evil witch from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She decided to join the other teachers and celebrate this memorable movie. She held her bright red hair with so much dignity she could have been mistaken for Ariel.

Students like Kayla Jeffery, 11, decided to participate by dressing up to show her school spirit.

“The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies. I’ve used my dingle-hopper (a fork used by Ariel from The Little Mermaid), and I also posed for a photo for the yearbook,” Jeffery said.

School spirit is a big part of showing support for the school. Spirit week helped make school a little more fun and entertaining. Other than cheering at the football game, spirit week is definitely a great way to have fun and show school spirit.
