People love the story of Eminem. His is the story of a young white kid that lived in a trailer park, and ran away every night to rap in an underground club in Detroit, with a drunk for a mom and a dad in jail, and then he rises to what he is today.  No one can live up to Eminem’s legacy, but a new, biracial, half white half black; rapper has a lot to say about America today. His name is Logic, also known as Sir Robert Bryson Hall II and he just released a new album called Everybody.

“Everyone tries to talk about this stuff, but no one talks about it enough, they only scratch the surface of these deep problems, that’s why i’m doing what i’m doing.” Logic when he  interviewed with HardKnocktv in June 2017

With Logic’s release of Everybody, Logic raps about America and the country controversy and problems that we come across in society today. His main point is that he wants to be heard are with the race and violence and equality.

“I think Everybody is born equal, but no one is treated equal.” Logic said at the end of his live performance of the song 1-800-275-8255 which is a song about suicide and how he is persuading you to take another path. The song’s title is the number for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline and he uses this song and voice that he has to talk to people that feel like there is no other option. He uses his life experiences, and what has happened to him to help him write his songs.

He explains the effects of being biracial on his life in the song Black Spider man and he explains how his race shouldn’t matter how he is treated. “I feel like I don’t belong, I feel like my life is wrong, I feel like I don’t know what’s up.” Logic sang in, Black Spiderman. He says “I don’t wanna be black, I don’t wanna be white, I just wanna be a man today, I don’t wanna be a Christian, Muslim, gay, straight, or bi, see you later, bye.” I think he has guts to do this and sing about these very touchy subjects.

The Media today avoids all the problems in the world because i believe that it likes to focus only on good thing in this world but for every good thing there is also a equil bad thing, but and Logic is an influence that I think people should listen to. A lot of the time when people try to talk about these subjects, such as how everybody is born equal, but nobody is treated equal, and the worst part is the media attempts to push these comments out of view. Logic uses his platform for the better by talking about these things. He sends a message that is very difficult to read and deal with, but it needs to be said.
