On Wednesday, October 24 2018, Dutch Bros, on 4320 Austin Bluffs Parkway was robbed. The 2 employees working believed the driver was just another customer.

Around 2:20 AM Wednesday morning, a man went through the drive-thru and pointed a gun at the employees, demanding money.  According to KKTV 11, “The suspect was identified as white or Hispanic, about 5-foot-11, wearing a “snowboarding-style” mask along with a blonde and red wig.

Sgt. Blanca Caro with the Colorado Springs Police Department told 11 News “a woman went through the shop’s drive-thru just minutes before the robbery who could possibly be an accomplice, but police are still investigating whether that was the case.”

This is not the first robbery at this same location, as it was robbed on February 14, 2018. Dutch Bros, located at Palmer and Circle, was robbed just before midnight on February 13, 2018. “Police said the man that robbed the Palmer and Circle location was matching much of the description of the Austin Bluffs Parkway suspect. In addition to a gun, the crook was also carrying a baseball bat.” KKTV 11 said. “It’s hard to give a good description because he was masked … he did have a bandanna over his face, a hoodie kind of cinched tight, so it was really hard to be able to give a good description of the suspect other than wearing all black clothing,” Caro said at the February 13th robbery.

Both the employees were uninjured. “They did everything right. They did what they were supposed to,” said Caro. “They stayed calm, did what the robber asked of them, and once the robber left, then they made themselves safe and called us.”

Police have not found a suspect yet due to the mask over his face. They have no evidence to show if the robberies are connected or not. Police are now studying surveillance footage to see if they can see anything that could help identify him. They will continue to investigate and keep the public updated.
