Acting is an art that few truly master. Freshman Kayla Jeffery has worked hard at trying to accomplish becoming the best actress for quite some time.

Acting is something that Jeffery is very passionate about. She loves trying new things and meeting new people that she otherwise wouldn’t have through acting.

“I love being somebody that I’m not,” Jeffery said.

Jeffery first started acting in 5th grade when she was assigned an English project about Shakespeare. She loved how it made her see things differently, and has been acting ever since.

One of her favorite things about acting is playing different characters. Playing different characters makes her able to perceive different situations that people go through and how they deal with those situations.

Acting takes a lot of time and dedication to do. Jeffery knows how much hard work it is first hand.

“When I have an audition or performance I practice whenever I get the chance,” Jeffery said.

Practicing whenever she can means giving up free time in order to do what she loves. Jeffery loves acting because it makes her more confident and happy. Acting is always fun for Jeffery, even though it takes a lot of time out of her already busy schedule.

Though hard work is discouraging to some, Jeffery enjoys the challenges acting brings for her. She loves working at the part until it is perfect.

Though she isn’t currently in an acting class outside of school, she maintains her work through the acting class that is offered in school. It is unknown at this time if she will resume taking classes outside of school this summer.
