The Spanish pupils of Lewis-Palmer are jetting off to Spain again coming next spring break. Señora Waltman will be escorting her students on an EF (Education First) tour.  A visit to Spain last year inspired this teacher to do a more hands-on learning technique.

Taking the kids to Spain really allows them to connect to the Spanish language and culture in a whole new way. They have to order food, buy souvenirs and connect with others all in Spanish. The trip is focused on learning the culture of Spain.

“It is part of an educational experience,” Waltman said. Traveling oversees with her students will allow her to connect with her students in a whole new way. Because the students were learning it really became an educational vacation.

In 2013, they will be visiting Prado, the Royal Palace, Toledo, Pargue Guell, Plaza Mayor and many other historical landmarks. Experiencing Spain’s history is also another important aspect of this trip during seven days in paradise.

Another cultural experience included with this excursion is an authentic flamenco lesson. Students learn first-hand the way of true Spanish expression by real flamenco dancers.

Enrollment is currently available and most of the slots will fill up this fall. The cost is $2,000 to register, and many early enrollment discounts are available. See Sra. Waltman for more information about this once in a lifetime Spanish experience.
