Over the years at Lewis-Palmer High School there have been many creative ways people have been asked to homecoming. While the ideas have ranged from extravagant to simple, most of the student body anticipates being asked, or asking someone during this exciting time of year.

One of the standouts includes sophomore Dustin Jones throwing a large banner over the bridge during lunch to ask freshman, Sarah Searle to this year’s dance.

“I really didn’t know what her reaction would be. I wasn’t nervous, and I hoped she would say yes. I kinda got the idea of asking in a big way from a senior who went here last year, by lip singing in front of everyone while a song was played over the intercom, “ Jones said.

Sophomore Courtney Cochran was asked to homecoming by Palmer Ridge junior, Tony Edwards. Edwards came to her house and dropped a box off, when Cochran opened the box she was surprised to see it was filled with balloons which read “homecoming?”

“It was such a unique way to be asked, and much unexpected. Tony is a really cool friend so I think this year’s homecoming will be a fun experience,” Cochran said.

No matter the way, simple or surprising, romantic, or just as friends, the homecoming dance gives students new ways to express creativity and get a fun date out of it.
