The musical this year at Lewis-Palmer High School is Legally Blonde. Since this musical is rated PG-13, some people are wondering if it is appropriate for younger children.

Ms. Kennedy and Mr. Douthit have changed the content of the musical to be more appropriate. They have taken some crude language out to make sure no one will be upset. Now there are only a couple scenes that are considered questionable.

“It is definitely for a more mature audience, but it is appropriate enough. My little sister is going to see it. It should be fine,” sophomore Kole McKay said.

For example the only thing that actually stands out as inappropriate is the song “Gay or European,” sung by the chorus.

“This song (Gay or European) is the only questionable song because it is talking about sexuality. Personally, I think Ms. Kennedy has done a great job to make the musical more appropriate,” junior Sarah Budd said.

The people participating in the musical will have families and younger siblings coming to see them preform. Most students agree that this musical will be a great experience and fun for the whole family.
