On Saturday, November 3rd, the Rangers volleyball team is going to be hosting the Colorado Regional competition. Held in the big gym at Lewis-Palmer, several teams will be fighting for a place in the state championships.

Holding a score of 19-0, the Lady Rangers volleyball team has been bringing home wins since their first match in August. The team has been predicted to win state for a few months now and they plan on continuing this dream.

“Our team is successful because we have grown from being pushed by playing 5A teams,” junior Carson Nicodemus said.

This rough competition has given them a higher level of experience that will prepare them for State.

The Rangers will play two teams this Saturday. If they beat both, they will automatically hold a seat in the 2012 State Competition. Rival Mesa State Varsity is among the teams that LP will face off against.

The Lady Rangers have been playing a very competitive season and have the confidence to place well at this event. Playing at their own school will give them an advantage, and crowds of LP fans are expected to attend.

Rowdy Rangers have had a large participation in the ladies’ season so far. Large amounts of fans have attended all home matches and cheered on their favorite players to victory. Several supportive students and families of the players are planning on attending the competition.

“We cheer to make the competition easier on the Rangers and harder on their opponents. We do our best to give the team energy,” senior Matt Prudhomme said.

Even though the location of the event will boost the team’s spirits, it’s their talent that brings them the most success. The team has spent a lot of time working hard for the team and their recent triumphs have truly shown their dedication.
