Student Council at Lewis-Palmer High School is holding a coat drive to collect coats for people who can not afford them. The drive began last Friday and will continue through the winter.

Even though this has been a relatively warm winter thusfar, when the temperature drops some people will need coats. Students at LP have an opportunity to donate coats and warm up those in need.

“I think that it is a great opportunity to get involved in the community. It shows high school students care about others,” junior Mikaela Harvey said.

Student Council hopes to raise hundreds of coats that will then go to Tri-Lakes Cares. The dropoff spot for the coats is in Mrs. Boone’s room, and she can answer any questions.

Coats that are donated should be either new or gently used. Please bring in some coats to give to those less fortunate this winter.
