On February 2, 2013, the game Temple Run 2 was released by Imangi Studios for the Android Market and the iTunes App Store. This new and addicting game has hooked teens everywhere and is causing people to spend every minute of their free time running through obstacles and collecting coins.

Compared to the first Temple Run, Temple Run 2 has better graphics, different types of environments, and exciting new side-winding paths that take the gamer on a whole new journey. Some of the obstacles that have been added include zip lines, rushing rivers, waterfalls and crazy rides in mine carts.

“Temple Run 2 is so much better. I really like how there are a lot more obstacles,” freshman Emma Thompson said.

One of the best parts about this game sequel is the power upgrades and abilities. Different characters unlock different abilities, which help you to survive longer in the game.

“Coin magnet is the best power-up because then you don’t have to worry about anything else other than dodging obstacles,” senior Lucas Palonen said.

The best way to succeed in this game is to fully upgrade the power-ups with the coins collected throughout the game. That way, the gamer is more likely to run longer and will not only earn more coins but receive a higher overall score.

“The highest score I’ve gotten is 17.2 million,” senior Travis Brown said.

Obviously once people download this game, they seem to have a hard time stopping. One of the main reasons why this game is so hard to put down is because there isn’t any way to actually win the game. The game just gets faster and faster until the player dies and has to start over, causing the player to constantly try and beat his original score.

Overall Temple Run 2 is considered way better than the first one, and its addicting qualities take a toll on anyone who starts playing it. If a person can’t afford to spend all of his free time swiping their fingers to hurdle through a never ending hazardous course, this game probably isn’t one he would want to start playing.
