The first offical day of spring began on March 22nd, however LP’s 2013 season of spring sports has been in session since the end of febuary. The most popular choices of spring sports would go to lacrosse.  Lacrosse is a combined district sport for both genders, opening up a large group of players to represent both LP as well as PR. Boy’s lacrosse represents our very own Lewis-Palmer while girl’s lacrosse represents Palmer Ridge. This year lacrosse will be playing 5a schools instead of other 4a schools as done in the past.

“I’ve been playing for six or seven years now, last year I swung up for some games, to play varsity, but now this year I have a starting spot on it. I play attack, which is an offensive position. I think that playing 5a this year is going to be more of a challenge for sure, but it’s going to be a good season and should go well” sophomore Dmitri Smith said.

In the time that season has begun, there have been three games for boy’s lacrosse.

“We’ve won two of our three games so far, which isn’t a bad start to our season. I’ve been playing for three years now, it kind of started with my mom forcing me to play but now I like it. I play goalie, and so far I think that we are going to have a pretty decent season” sophomore Marcus Fenimore said.

The next varsity game is Friday, April 5th 2013, at 6:30 at the Don Breese Stadium.
