The pilot episode of season four of The Walking Dead premiered on October 13th and has already managed to leave its viewers on the edge of their seats. The Walking Dead is a suspenseful, post-apocalyptic drama that appeals to a large audience.

While struggling to survive and adapt to a dangerous world taken over by zombies, the characters in The Walking Dead form allying groups among each other; for there is power in numbers. However, other survivor groups are formed throughout America and there is competition to stay alive throughout the various groups of survivors.

Not only do the differing survival groups clash but the constant danger of zombies lurking throughout the area adds to the immense pressure to survive.

Frank Darabont, Gale Anne Hurd, and David Alpert worked together to produce the hit television series that was originally designed after a comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The collaboration of the comic book authors, show producers, and actors drew millions of viewers to the series in the three previous seasons and expect to do so in season four as well.

The Walking Dead drew new attention from viewers who had never gotten into the show during the previous seasons as well as excited the die-hard fans who had been looking forward to season four since March 31st, when the third season ended. There seems to be many surprises in store for the viewers of season four of the suspenseful series.
